The Doorway to Recovery’s
Admissions Process

The Doorway to Recovery Program and Services offers sober living for men and women in addiction recovery.  Our sober living homes are located in various locations throughout Metro-Detroit.  In addition to our safe, clean, structured sober living homes, The Doorway to Recovery features a recovery program focused on: 12 step recovery, peer support/peer pressure, accountability, and growth… recovery growth, and life growth.

1.) Pre-intake Interview:

If you are interested in Sober Living at The Doorway to Recovery, the first step is to complete a pre-intake interview by phone or online.  This short process, usually 10-20 minutes, will help to verify that you or your loved one is able to fully follow The Doorway to Recovery’s program requirements.  (call 248-987-2696)  During this time, we will find the best placement for you or your loved one within our homes and answer any questions that you may have.

2.) Deposit/Schedule Intake:

In the event the individual interested in The Doorway to Recovery Program is still in an inpatient treatment center, out of state, or in any other situation that would not allow for a same-day intake, a deposit will be required to hold a bed until the intake is completed.  At time of deposit being placed, an intake will be scheduled.  A deposit can be left online by clicking here.

3.) Intake

Before moving into our sober living home, an intake must take place at our Main Office.  At the time of intake, the individual will be asked many questions, personal information, family and social information, emergency contact information, court/legal information, and substance abuse history. If possible, we’d like to get a copy of the participant’s ID and Insurance in case of emergency. The Doorway to Recovery’s program and housing rules will be discussed in detail.  A contract will be signed, payment made, and a drug/alcohol test completed.  Once this is done, the individual is scheduled (usually immediately following intake) to meet with house manager or director at their sober living home.

4.) Move-In

Once completing intake, meeting staff at the house, the Admissions/Intake Process will be complete!
